Spitbank Fort

Are you prepared to be locked in a haunted nineteenth century sea fort - with no electricity or heating all night? This is an investigation not for the faint hearted!

Spitbank fort was designed to defend the anchorage and the inner approaches to Portsmouth Harbour from French Invaders, but today it stands as a reminder of Palmerstone’s folly for building the fort.

No one has ever lived on the Fort for very long - have the spirits of the Fort driven the owners away? Explore the creepy basement area and its labyrinth-like tunnels, or investigate rooms that have not been touched for over a hundred years with many original features and artefacts. You will be taken by ferry to the Fort where you will take part in this remarkable investigation.
